Your NCFE Level 3 Programme is 100% coursework assessed and will be delivered through a series of innovative projects.
Your programme is split into 2 distinct years. Year 1 will develop your understanding of you, your body, your abilities, and your role within a team. In Year 2 the focus shifts to preparing you for a career in sport.
There are 14 projects to complete during your first year. The projects cover a wide range of different of sporting topics.
WHAT DOES A PROJECT LOOK LIKE ON MY PROGRAMME?
Projects are set using the Microsoft Teams platform that you will be trained on using as part of your onboarding.

You will receive your fully marked project with feedback from your Tutor within 2 weeks (10 working days) of the submission date. You will get one further opportunity to resubmit.
Project 1 is called ‘Who Am I’ and focuses on why you have joined the SCL, your strengths and areas for improvement as an athlete and as a student, pre-season testing and what you hope to gain from your 2nd year on the programme.

WHAT ARE THE CHALLENGES WHICH ARE PART OF MY PROGRAMME?
Each Project is made up of Challenges. Challenges can be theoretical or practical.
They are frequently related to you, and your performance and development as a player.
They may also be related to the pro game and the performance of professional players.
There is also a strong focus on the knowledge and skills you will acquire as you progress on your programme.
You will be required discuss these within an ‘End of Project Review’ at the conclusion of each project.
We want you to take full and final responsibility for your projects. Your final task is to complete a bibliography, to check the format or your work and to proof-read it before your final submission.
HOW SHOULD I PRESENT MY WORK?
For each project you will be provided with clear instructions on how you should present your final submission. This guidance features on the final page of the project brief.
Remember presentation is important! You must proof-read your final piece of work, check you have addressed all the challenges fully, check it is well formatted and well presented and include your Bibliography.
In Year 2 of the programme you will complete an additional 8 units. There are 4 mandatory units (see below) and then you will have the option of selecting one of two course pathways to cover the remaining 3 units of the programme. Each pathway consists of a different project.
